Hello and welcome to Creative Bloq's Apple Watch Prime Day deals blog! We've already seen plenty of brilliant pre-Prime day deals, but things went a bit quiet over the weekend. Thankfully, the deals are starting to pop up again – and right now at Amazon in the US you can get a whopping $70 off the Apple Watch Series 8 in both 41mm and 45mm editions.
Over in the UK, Amazon is offering a similarly great deal on the Apple Watch Series 8, with £50 off both sizes. That means you can grab a current-edition Apple Watch (complete with always-on display and temperature tracking) for £369 – a steal.
Right now in the UK Amazon is offering £90 off the Apple Watch Series 7 45mm, complete with Cellular (which means you don't need a phone connection to use it). The Series 7 is one of our favourite models, and the 8 offered a curiously incremental upgrade last year. If you don't need crash detection or cycle tracking, £409 is a brilliant deal.
The Apple Watch comes in all shapes and sizes – and prices. Cheapest of the lot is the Apple Watch SE, which is missing a few features such as the always-on display and temperature tracking. But with $30 off at $219, it's ridiculously good value at Amazon in the US right now – and the cheapest we've ever seen it.
It's hardly the most earth-shattering deal around, but Amazon in the US is currently offering $20 off the Apple Watch Ultra, bringing it down to $779. But hey, deals on the brand new Ultra are rare, and it's the toughest and most rugged watch the company offers.
If you've been deciding between Apple Watch models, you might have spotted that as well as size (41mm or 45mm), you can also choose between aluminium or stainless steel. The latter is much pricier, but as well as looking more premium, it offers some practical benefits – the screen is much stronger and more scratch resistant. Right now, Amazon has $70 off all 3 colours of the steel Apple Watch Series 8. It's still $729, but if you had your eye on the luxury version, it could be worth going for.
It's looking like $50 off the Apple Watch Series 8 is the main deal for Apple's wearable (so far, at least, though we know it isn't actually Prime Day anywhere yet). The deal is available in both the UK and the US.
For many, a renewed Apple Watch is a brilliant way of saving some money. You can get certified renewed tech on loads of sites, and one of those renewed models is this Apple Watch SE, which is selling for a third less than the price of a new Watch – get a Midnight 44mm version for just $199.99 at Amazon (new price: $299.99), but there are deals on every colour – just click through.
Prime Day is about to begin officially in the UK, and a cheeky little £10 discount on the Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) (GPS, 40mm) is worth a mention. Since Amazon's discount brings it to £249 it's still £20 off its lowest ever price, so we hope it'll fall further but it's worth keeping an eye on in case this is as good as it gets.
So, the clock has just ticked over to midnight and I'm delighted to say there has been movement on two of the deals we've reported on so far, bringing them both into record-low territory. Given my eyes are propped open with matchsticks, this couldn't be better news.
The Apple Watch Series 8 (GPS 41mm) has come down by a further £20 – undercutting any previous deal we've seen by a delightful £10. Get it in a multitude of colours now, down from its RRP of £419 to £349 at Amazon. Hurrah!
Or you could go for the larger 45mm version, which is also at a record-low of £379 at Amazon (down from the RRP of £449).
Sure, the watches were already discounted to £20 more than this price, but it's a downwards slant to rock bottom on the newest Watch model and that's what we're looking for.
The Apple Watch SE has also come down to the lowest price we've seen, by no less £11. And you can buy a lot with £11. Get the Midnight or Silver versions now on Amazon for £228 (the Starlight colour is not as good a deal, fyi).
It's worth noting that those Apple Watch Prime Day deals in the UK extend to the more expensive wifi + cellular configurations as well.
Apple Watch Series 8 (GPS + Cellular, 41mm) is reduced from £529 to £449 while the larger 45mm model is reduced from £549 to £469. Both of these are record low prices in the UK.
But what is this we see. Apple's saved the best to put live last. It's just dropped a Prime Day Apple Watch Ultra deal, and it's the best price we've seen on this premium smartwatch, and by a long way.
You can get the small size of the Apple Watch Ultra for £849 £719. That's a saving of £130. Sure, it's still an expensive watch, but bear in mind that until now we've never seen a discount of more than £30 on this rugged wearable, which was released last September.
So Prime Day has got off to a great start for anyone looking for an Apple Watch in the UK with official Prime Day deals on all recent models. There's also 30% off the 2021 Apple Watch 7 GPS + Cellular version - now £329, which is an interesting buy if you want a mobile connection.
How will the US compare? Many of the UK Prime deals we're seeing match the size of general deals that we've already seen in the US in the past, so it may be that we don't see so many Prime exclusive discounts in the US... or maybe we'll get some record low prices. Sorry, I've been drinking my coffee too fast. What I mean to say is, the official Prime Day deals are now active on the Apple Watch, and they are at a record low for a number of models. My pick of the bunch, because I'm a simple man with simple needs, is the Apple Watch SE (which does everything you need from an Apple Watch without breaking the bank), which is now down to a lowest-ever $199.99 from its RRP of $249. The lowest we've ever seen it at before was $219, so light the Record Low Beacons, fellow subjects of the kingdom!
This just in: The Apple Watch Series 8 (the latest in the series, if you don't count the niche Ultra, which we aren't) is at an all-time low price.
If you have an Amazon Prime membership, you can get massive deals on both the 41mm and 45mm models. The biggest saving is the 45mm has dropped from $429 to just $309.99, saving you $120 at Amazon.
If you want the 41mm model, that's down from $399 to $279.99, also at Amazon.

UPDATE: There doesn't seem to be any good deals on the Apple Watch 7 over at Amazon at the moment... scrap that. There doesn't seem to be any deals on the 7 (unless you want to go for a renewed model.)
In fact, searching through other top retailers' sites, it seems that renewed and refurbished are the only types of Apple Watch Series 7's that you're likely to find today. That may all change tomorrow, as Amazon will release new stock for the second day of Prime, but for now, if you want all the features that the 7 has to offer, and a few more, at a record low price, then the Apple Watch 8 is currently your best bet. In short...

Not fussed about the newest model of Apple Watch, and just want a pretty-looking smartwatch, that isn't smarter than you?!
The first generation of Apple Watch SE (2020) is currently at a low price of $179 for the 40mm space grey model. This is a pretty big step down from the 2nd Gen, which has the same chip set as the 8! And this is definitely not for anyone that wants the most recent features. But if all you want is a solid, basic smartwatch that can take calls, reply to text, and track some daily activity, this is a great bargain.

Yep, this has got to be the Apple Watch deal of Prime Day 2023. £349 is the cheapest we've ever seen the brand new Apple Watch Series 8, knocking a whopping £70 off the price. Grab this one while it lasts at Amazon!
We weren't expecting to see any decent deals on the brand new Apple Watch Ultra this year, so we're surprised to see that Amazon is offering £84 off Apple's most rugged smartwatch right now, bringing the price down from £849 to £765.
Over in the US, that Walmart deal on the first generation Apple Watch SE is still the cheapest way to get hold of an Apple Watch right now, currently at a low price of $179 for the 40mm space grey model.

It isn't only the Apple Watch itself on offer at Amazon in the UK. There are also a few deals to be found on official Watch straps, like this white Sport Band, down from £49 to £42.99.
If you're on a budget but want something a little less dated than the 1st gen Apple Watch SE, Amazon US currently has the current 2nd gen version available for $50 off, down from $249 to $199. While it doesn't pack an always-on display, the SE is surprisingly mighty, featuring all the fitness tracking tools. you'd expect along with the brand new Crash Detection feature.

Want to leave your phone at home? One of the main benefits of the cellular edition Apple Watch is that you don't need an iPhone connection to use the internet for calls, messages, music etc. – and right now at Amazon US the LTE Apple Watch Series 8 is a whopping $120 off, down from $499 to $379 for the 41mm version!
While we expected to see plenty of deals on the Apple Watch Series 8 and Series 7, the brand new and ultra-rugged Apple Watch Ultra seemed less likely. But believe it or not, right now Amazon UK is offering £130 off the Ultra, bringing the price down from £849 to £719.
So what's the difference between the Apple Watch SE (2) and the Apple Watch Series 8? Besides a hundred or so dollars/pounds, there are some key differences as you'd expect.
Yes, they have the same chip – a dual processor, no less. But the 8 is more money for a reason. The design is more premium, and it has 20 per cent more screen. There are health trackers on the 8 that the SE (2) doesn't have – temperature sensing, ECG, heart rate, blood oxygen – whereas the SE only has heart rate monitoring. But that's sort of it, to be honest. Even the battery life is comparable now there's low power mode.
So, if all those features are important to you, you should get the Apple Watch 8 right now for the record-low price.

Need a replacement or spare strap? There are a ton of deals on straps over at Amazon. None on the official Apple one but if you're not picky about having an official one, this is a great option.
Some people have been asking us if we expect there to be new Prime Day Apple Watch deals from midnight. No, is the short answer. Generally during Prime Day, once the official members-only deals are live, that's it; the prices don't get any better.
It's already the second day of Prime Day in the UK now, and the Apple Watch deals all remain the same. That £130 saving on the Apple Watch Ultra remains the most surprising of the bunch. The biggest saving is limited to only one size and style, but there are smaller discounts on others.

If you're considering an Apple Watch alternative, our favourite cheapie option is the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini. It was already very cheap for a smartwatch with a sleek screen and health monitoring features, as we note in our buying guide. But it also has a Prime Day deal on now, which reduces the price by 30% to just $69.99.

For something a little bit more premium but still a cheaper than the cheapest Apple Watch, we've long recommended the Fitbit Sense. With good fitness tracking and stats and six days of battery life, we think it's the best Apple Watch alternative for those looking for a watch for health and exercise monitoring. There's a Prime Day deal here too, with 28% off.

Having said that, the Apple Watch SE is also so attractively priced now that you might not want to go looking for a cheaper alternative. It's the cheapest Apple smartwatch, but the 2nd gen version is super functional with fitness and sleep tracking, crash detection and a heart rate monitor. The only issue is that there's no stock left on the smaller 40mm version at Amazon.

If you're you're in the UK, and you're simply looking for a good Apple Watch 8 deal that allows you to spend the least amount of money on the latest model, there's one clear winner right now.

If you don't mind a used Apple Watch SE then you can get one for $209 at the moment from Amazon, but if you're willing to pay just $10 more you can get a brand new Watch in Starlight Aluminium.
This price is the lowest we've seen it dip on Amazon and there's only a few hours left of Prime, so don't delay if you decide this is the Watch for you. Time, is indeed, ticking.
We've been going on about the deal on the Apple Watch Ultra for a day or so now, and don't panic, it hasn't gone away. However it is worth mentioning that this deal is only available on the Ocean Band for 130-200mm wrists, that's the funky yellow one. So if you don't want funky yellow, you'll have to pay an extra $20.
Personally, I like the Ocean yellow, though I don't know if it would go with my non-ocean attire.

There are a few Prime Day deals on bands available, which are worth taking a look at if you've already got a Watch and fancy a change or whether you're about to buy a new one and want to have some options.

If you're more worried about price than you are about having the latest features then Walmart is offering the cheapest Apple Watch at $149 right now.
This doesn't have the extra health monitoring features of later watches but if you want a simple smartwatch to take calls on, send texts and track daily fitness activity with, then this is a no-brainer.

We reported earlier into the Prime Day antics that the Apple Watch Ultra had a bargain deal, on the size small model in Green, which had dropped in price from £849 to £719 at Amazon UK. However, this price has since increased to £819, which is still a decent saving, but we know we can do better.
The best Apple Watch deals differ depending on which colour, size, and band are picked, and the cheapest combination we've found right now is the Apple Watch Ultra size small with an Orange Alpine Loop band for £765.
